A fundraiser started by a community thousands of miles from home has now reached Nepal. UKMandu raised £1,250 for the relief effort through a campaign supported by 27 donations. From the campaign, NPR 250,000—2.5 lakh—has been sent to Nepal to support families affected by the floods.
UKMandu provided the funds to Ashim GC, who is working at the grassroots level with affected families. The support is intended for practical needs, including blankets and other essential supplies. We will share further updates from the ground as the work continues.
A community effort, from start to finish
Some supporters gave large amounts. Others gave what they could, shared the fundraiser or encouraged someone else to help. Each act mattered. This contribution belongs to the community that came together behind it, not to UKMandu alone.
The campaign began as a way for Nepalese people in the UK to respond to the flooding back home, especially when students and families here were worried about loved ones in Nepal. The first transfer is a concrete step: money raised here has been passed to someone working directly with people facing the aftermath.
Thank you to every supporter
We thank the people who donated under their names, as well as those who chose to give anonymously. We are grateful to everyone who shared the campaign too.

Updates with care
We intend to keep the community informed about how the relief reaches families. At the same time, the privacy and dignity of people receiving support come first. We will share useful updates from Nepal without turning anyone’s hardship into a public display.
To our donors and everyone who helped spread the word: thank you for trusting UKMandu. Your support has reached Nepal. Together, we can keep showing up for our community when it matters most. 🇬🇧🤝🇳🇵
